269: ABSENCE DOESN’T MAKE THE HEART GROW FONDER

Distance in your marriage can be tough.

Play

This can happen in your home or it could be when you and your spouse are miles apart. This can be for work, family illness, deployment, moving to a new city, or any other reason.

As much as the old saying goes, distance makes the heart grow fonder, this usually isn’t the case.

Distance can cause heartache, anxiety, frustration and loneliness.

In this week’s show Tony & Alisa talk about ways that you can strengthen your marriage no matter if you’re together daily or living apart for a period of time.

  1. Guys- totally loved this podcast, and wish that we would have had parents that would’ve offered such good advice when my husband and I were doing the long distance thing before we were married.

One of the our favorite things that we did was to talk on the phone while each enjoying cups of Abuelita hot chocolate. We also wrote real snail mail letters daily (this was before email was common).

Thank you for a great podcast.
