395: THAT TIME OF THE MONTH

“A great marriage is made of two people who continuously put their vows ahead of their feelings.” —Anonymous

It’s that time of the month again.

Interestingly enough this seems to happen every month.

First let’s address a little biology.

  • A woman’s body was created to have a cycle every single month.
  • This is not punishment for husbands or wives.
  • This is not something for either of you to angry or frustrated about.
  • It’s the way a woman’s body was created and it’s amazing.

A woman’s period can put a strain on how you and your spouse communicates as well as connect.

Hormones are no joke and for some women those hormones can go all over the place.

During this time of the month you may feel uncomfortable in your skin, in your clothes, and you may feel less attractive and less desirable.

All this to say that sometimes during that time of the month the two of you may not be feeling so loving or so connected to one another.

BUT…

We’re pretty sure that your vows had something in there about for better or worse, in sickness and in health.

Guess what, that means that when your wife is having her period neither one of you gets a pass to just check out.

Nor do either of you gets to claim the period excuse for how you act toward one another.

In this week’s show Tony and Alisa talk about staying connected physically and emotionally when it’s that time of the month.
