“I think grooming is undervalued by men. We expect women to be fully groomed which they do. But I also think it’s just as important for a man to look clean and fresh.” —Lewis Hamilton

Manscaping: The removal or trimming of hair on a man’s body for cosmetic effect. This can be any place: his facial hair, chest, back, arms, legs, nose, ears, or pubic region.

We’re going to dive into this topic because 82% of women desire for their husbands to be manscaped in some way, but only 23% of them have expressed that to him.

That leaves a 59% gap where husbands and wives are not communicating!

There’s all sorts of ways to manscape, or care for, hair on a man’s body. There’s trimming, waxing, shaving, clipping, and of course where and how much are personal preferences, too.

Like everything else we urge you and your spouse to dig into, there’s no one right way to do it.

However, there are wrong ways and we want you to avoid some pitfalls. Remember than while honesty is always best, you should express your preferences while being mindful that you are providing feedback on a personal and potentially sensitive part of your spouse.

When discussing methods, respect their body and their comfort level with what tools and techniques might be involved.

When you have this conversation, here are some questions you might want to ask:

  • What do you like about my current grooming habits, and what might you like for me to try differently?
  • Is this something you want my help with or would you prefer to do it on your own/with a professional?

When we got married, we gave our full selves to our spouse. There are many parts of our physical bodies that we cannot change, but we should be eager to present ourselves in an attractive way to our spouse.

You might end up with a nose trimmer, but if her kisses last twice as long, isn’t it worth it!?!

Please remember to consider not only each other’s preferences but also health and safety factors, especially in the pubic areas.
