538: A SIMPLE THANK YOU

“Happiness isn’t getting what you want all the time. It’s about loving what you have and being grateful for it.” —Anonymous

There is tremendous power in voicing what you are thankful for in your marriage. It’s more than just saying words, it’s truly acknowledging someone with your whole heart.

During November, you are often reminded what saying thank you actually means. During this time of year, you may reflect on the things you often take for granted.

It may be in the form of people in your life or in the actions that surround you every day. You are not alone, many of us are challenged by remembering to stop and show gratitude.

No matter where you are in your life, November is the thankful month.

This is the perfect time of year to acknowledge everyone that brings you joy and impacts your life.

Just as important is being able to receive thanks, when it is given to you. It can be tough to open yourself up to being thanked. The abundance of gratitude that this season lends, is the perfect time to reflect and express what you are feeling.

  • Who do you need to express gratitude toward?
  • What do you need to say thank you for this week?

Maybe it’s time to write a love letter. Don’t wait for Valentine’s Day to put your words into a letter. Putting your feelings and expression of gratitude into words on paper is such a great way to express what you are thankful for.

Don’t let this week go by without saying thank you, in fact, don’t let today go by without a thank you. If you take anything away from the spirit of this month, remember that a thank you recognizes that what your spouse has done is important.

Before you forget, embrace today and show your spouse just how thankful you are for them.
