“I can give you a six word formula for success. Think things through – then follow through.” —Eddie Rickenbacker

Committing to a sex challenge means committing to more than having sex. It means talking about what a sex challenge will look like for you as a couple.

Although there’s something amazing about just jumping into something without really knowing what you are doing, you may want to sit down together to discuss a few things before you get started.

You may be thinking “how hard can this be?” In reality, there is more to a sex challenge than just saying you’re going to have sex for 7 days, 30 days, 60 days, or however long the two of you choose.

That’s because life happens. Jobs. Kids. Family obligations. You name it. There is a lot to consider.

So what are the big things you need to consider?

You’ll want to consider your schedule and the schedule of all the other things in your life. This includes work travel, the kids’ schedules, holidays, and other personal and family commitments.

It also means figuring out if you will have sex during her period. All those things that just normally happen in life and your marriage, can affect your ability to be successful in your sex challenge.

Your schedule can literally make or break the challenge.

Fatigue is real, and you want to be rested when you take on this challenge.

So, to the best of your ability, you need to look at what you have on your calendar and make some decisions. For instance, you may decide that you are not going to add any late-night commitments during your challenge.

Ultimately, looking at your calendar and talking through the period of time you wish to do your challenge will make a difference in what you are able to accomplish.

Another item to think about is the stamina that both of you will have for a sex challenge. For most people, a challenge like this will be the most consecutive days that they have ever had sex.

If it turns out you need to have a break, no worries. It’s bound to happen so determine what happens after your day off.

This is your time to define what a sex challenge means to you. Be open, honest, and transparent with one another. When you do, you’re activating your emotional intimacy which is key to having a successful sex challenge.
