“Your blessings may come in unexpected ways.” —Neil Andersen

never thought

In marriage, there are times when life happens. It also happens in ways you may have never imagined.

You may find yourself having conversations or asking or doing things you’d never imagined you would be doing for your spouse.

Some of these things might be simple; like shaving your husband’s back hair or buying feminine products for your wife. They might seem uncomfortable, and yet they aren’t all that big of a deal.

Then there are the big things, like post-op surgery care, that can often test your limits. In the end, you do them because you know your spouse needs you.

All marriages experience these types of situations; so although you might feel alone in the moment, they come up in your marriage more often than not. You are not alone in thinking, “No way. I’m not going to do that.”

And yet… you do. Why is that? Well, the answer to that question is based on the fact that the two of you are on the same team. What you choose to do for each other in those moments makes all the difference in the connection the two of you share.

Just because you didn’t think you ever would, doesn’t mean that you can’t. It’s just a matter of you deciding you can do it.

In a marriage, these situations are an opportunity for the two of you to grow.
