599: OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE: PART 4 — SPIRITUAL CONNECTION

“The only time that you are growing is when you are uncomfortable.” —T. Harv Eker

spiritual connection

Were you raised in a home where religion, finances, politics, or sex was not discussed?
For many, the big 4 didn’t get discussed as openly as needed to be able to share with your spouse. Due to this, you may now feel the effects on your marriage.

When it comes to the various intimacies, spiritual intimacy has challenges because of the many things that impact you both, even beyond your individual upbringing. Factors like inconsistency, comfort levels, expectations, and feeling vulnerable also impact the growth of your spiritual intimacy.

And knowing this, you may have struggles with other areas of your marriage as well.

Part of the struggle with this particular intimacy is that you have to be able to define what it looks like for the two of you. Your spiritual connection can mean you are praying together. It can also mean you share areas of your spiritual life like having conversations about faith, going to church together, doing a devotional, or reading the Bible.

Or for you and your spouse, it could be something else altogether.

When you decide to build upon your spiritual connection, it’s important that you lay out your game plan, each take turns, work together to find the pieces you want to incorporate, and make the time to connect spiritually.

What you do to set up your spiritual connection includes many of the same things couples do when they are setting up the Intimacy Lifestyle. It’s the intentional focus on your spiritual connection you’ll want to work on.

You’re going to have to step out of your comfort zone and not let distractions get in your way.

So no matter what spiritual intimacy looks like for you and your spouse, know that it is an important part of your marriage.
