“A person who feels appreciated will always do more than expected.” —Anonymous

Appreciation is in the air. Focusing on being thankful impacts you and your spouse.

It’s important to acknowledge the good things that have and are happening in your marriage. The things that your spouse does for you, for your family, for your lives together.

The truth is the month of November shouldn’t be the only time that you say thank you because there is so much to be grateful for. It’s vital to express appreciation all year long.

There’s an expression out there that says, “whatever you appreciate grows in value”.

When you express appreciation it’s not just for your spouse to hear it. Your body responds as well. It’s literally a full-body experience. For both of you. You both benefit.

The problem is that sometimes you may find that you have fallen into a rut of doing the same thing or of not doing anything. That’s why it’s important to ask yourself how you express appreciation to your spouse.

You may also want to open up a conversation as to the best way for your spouse to express appreciation to you.

This means that you are going to have to ask. You need to simply say “how can I best show my appreciation for you?”. Then make those changes to how you’re showing them you appreciate them. This may change over time.

This week START to express your appreciation, don’t let it be a one-day thing but rather a lifestyle choice.
