Do you view sex as a burden or an adventure?

Sex doesn’t have to feel like an obligation. In fact, duty sex is highly problematic for your marriage. Both of you can sense the disconnect, and it does nothing to strengthen your relationship.

What if, instead, you could view sex as the incredible adventure it really is?

Pull out the map, pick a destination, and travel together. It’s time to explore sex in a better way.

Imagine you’re planning a trip with your spouse. It could be a small getaway to a nearby town or a massive international adventure. Wherever you’re going, there are certain things you’ll want to see and do.

You wouldn’t plan a trip without communicating your desires or expectations. Why would you approach sex that way?

In the same way that you would discuss the things you want to experience on a trip, you should talk with your spouse about things you want to explore in your sex life:

Remember, exploring sexual intimacy is a lot like traveling.

There’s excitementand exhaustion. It can be spectacularand overwhelming. But through it all, your spouse has your back.

Ultimately, sex is an amazing adventure when you both decide to see it that way.

Your body, mind, and soul all play a role in sexual intimacy. In other words, you need to explore sexual intimacy in all of those areas.

  • What false beliefs or thoughts are holding you back?
  • Are there things you need to get off your chest?
  • Do you need to address cracks in other Pillars of Intimacy®

There were no limitations or stipulations when you said, “I do.” Instead, you agreed to travel with your spouse throughout all of life’s adventures.

So don’t travel alone, and don’t force your spouse to travel on their ownExplore new aspects of sex together, touch your spouse in ways that are meaningful to them, and implement an Intimacy Lifestyle that works for you.

The adventure of sex is ongoing and ever-changing. For example, kids, career changes, and menopause are just a few of the things that will affect your sexual intimacy. So you need to keep exploring.

In truth, you will go on this adventure multiple times throughout your marriage.
