Immediately Useful No Matter How Many Kids, Jobs, or Hobbies You Have

“Revolutionizing your relationship BEGINS in the heart, and the battle is WON between the sheets.” —Rochelle Foxx

There are a lot of elements to an extraordinary marriage. But two elements are keystones… Emotional AND Physical Connection.

This is why we love the quote from Rochelle… she reminds us that one is not “more important” than the other. They support each other.

Lately we’ve had a lot of couples asking us…

  • What are PRACTICAL and easy ways to improve our communication?
  • How do we make TIME for love making when our days and to-do lists are getting longer and longer?
  • Can we experience happily ever after TOGETHER even if we’re not seeing eye-to-eye?

Have you faced any of these challenges in your marriage?

If so, know that you’re not alone. Alisa and I were asking these exact same questions many years ago.

That’s when we decided to find and write marriage books that would shift the intimacy we experienced.

For these marriage books to have an impact for REAL couples, like you and us, we knew we had to find…

  • Uncomplicated and immediately useful no matter how many kids, jobs, or hobbies you have these marriage books are easy to find time for.
  • Teach TARGETED ways for you to improve EVERY DAY in tiny, manageable ways.
  • Use Proven Strategies that are relatable  – not gimmicky or shallow.

  1. The books that come to mind are: Love & Respect (Emerson Eggerich) http://amzn.to/2gZFi0c, The Language of Love & Respect (Emersion Eggerich) http://amzn.to/2gSPL0M, Sex Begins in the Kitchen (Dr. Kevin Leman) http://amzn.to/2gA63LM, Sheet Music (Dr. Kevin Leman) http://amzn.to/2gSMkHB, For Men Only (Shaunti Feldhan) http://amzn.to/2fXdyII, For Women Only (Shaunti Feldhan) http://amzn.to/2gA01uj, Boundaries in Marriage (Henry Cloud & John Townsend) http://amzn.to/2gzT7FB, I Promise (Gary Smalley) http://amzn.to/2fToQlX & Now You’re Speaking My Language (Gary Chapman) http://amzn.to/2glVXer. A college instructor at Bible college told the class that there are six hedges of protection for marriage: commitment, communication, love, intimacy, sex & prayer. I generally base my marriage book readings off of those six areas. I’m currently reading The Power of a Praying Husband by Stormie Omartian, http://amzn.to/2gA4nBQ. Lord bless!

  2. Two key books for me. The first is the Book of Romance by Tommy Nelson, http://amzn.to/2g3EMx3, though you could cheat on the reading and get a live version by searching Song of Solomon podcast from Dentin Bible Church. The second is Sacred Sex by Tim Alan Gardner, http://amzn.to/2g3yYDU. The most comprehensive Bible study I would recommend for marriage is Marriage Without Regrets by Kay Arthur, http://amzn.to/2g28urq, but be prepared for some serious study as you deepen your understanding on what God’s word says on marriage across a broad range of topics.

  3. I am SO thankful for this post! My husband is deployed – away on his third tour – and when he deploys that is usually when I take a step back and think about how I can be a better, more godly wife to him. During deployments, I usually read a book or two on marriage. So this list is greatly appreciated! I have read a couple and will definitely look into a few on there to add to my nightstand.

    Thanks again!
